My collaboration with Dr. Liao's laboratory at the South China Botanical Garden has resulted in a publication with Dr. Shan-Shan Huang, a student of Dr. Liao's who graduated last May after completing this paper. In it we describe the structure and histochemistry of the glandular trichomes of lavender in preparation for a studies of the effects of calcium and heat shock on gland development. Papers are currently in preparation on these subjects. The work on calcium function is particularly important because it shows the importance of calcium as an important mediator in regulating secretion. I will write more about this after the paper is submitted. The full reference of the published paper is below, with a link to the PDF.
